Vizrt Cycloid

The Vizrt Cycloid

The Vizrt Cycloid primitive is a built-in geometry plugin within Vizrt Artist which can be used to make a lot of various pointed and rounded shapes. What's more the primitive can be extruded to make a 3D object. The video below explains how to use the Cycloid and shows what each of the settings do within the editor.

The Cycloid is found inside the Geometry Plugins tab inside of Vizrt Artist. You drag the object down into the scene tree or render window  and when you click on the cycloid icon on the container  it opens the editor in the upper right window. Once inside the editor there is a setting to choose between an EpiCycloid and a HypoCycloid.  The primitive is set to HypoCycloid by default. Whichever setting it is on, the parameters tat you can adjust remain the same. There's a hole button that will allow you to create a hole inside of the shape. The size of the hole will be dependent on what the radius is set to. There's also a factor inner and a factor outer along with a petals and slice setting.
